Litigation & Dispute Resolution

A personal service from experienced lawyers who quickly come to grips with the nuances of your dispute, delivering tactical and definitive advice that aligns with your risk profile and commercial objectives.

We are highly skilled in providing practical yet strategic advice to clients on how to achieve effective and swift solutions to disputes, often avoiding the substantial costs associated with court proceedings. By the same token, with AXM Law, you can be assured that you are retaining not only the finest legal minds, but battle-hardened litigators who thrive and excel amidst the cut and thrust of difficult litigation and contentious disputes.

AXM Law's founder, Alex Moriarty, is particularly known for his strategic approach to litigation, having won many legal test cases throughout his career. For example, in 2017, he led one of Queensland’s largest-ever class actions for 43,000 victims of the Pearls Ponzi scheme. He initiated the matter by obtaining urgent injunctions freezing the $130 million sale of the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast—previously purchased with victims’ funds, just one week prior to the sale funds being moved offshore.

Our strengths include all commercial and property litigation in every Australian jurisdiction with litigation being actively run in the Federal, Supreme, intermediate and local courts of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We excel in complex shareholder disputes, defamation, wills and estates, fraud, debt recovery, and plaintiff insurance litigation. We also act in administrative law matters, particularly professional disciplinary proceedings by AHPRA and other regulators.

Alex Moriarty has also acted in some of the most sensitive and high-profile Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigations, representing clients the subject of ASIC and/or ACCC enforcement activities, and defending criminal proceedings for corporate law offences.
